Dudhsagar Waterfalls

The day starts with a drive across the vibrant state of Goa, passing through small villages, past bright paddy fields and swaying palms as we head for the local wild life sanctuary.

Enjoy a fabulous day out driving to ‘Collem; by four wheel vehicles through dirt tracks and numerous streams, splashing around in the fresh sparkling water of the stunning DUDHSAGAR WATERFALLS. Falling from a majestic height of 300m, the famous waterfalls at Dudhsagar, on the Goa-Karnataka border, draws steady stream of visitors. The Konkani name for the falls, which literally translated means "sea of milk", is due to the clouds of foam kicked up at the bottom when the water levels are at their highest.

Pass scampering monkeys jumping from tree to tree and local families doing their daily washing in the stream. You make your way over boulders and bridges fashioned from slender logs merely laid side by side to the falls. It is then time for a swim in the cool clean pool waters under the cascading waterfall. Lie down on a smooth rock or just sit under the shade of the trees and share the nuts with the cheeky monkeys who will also wait for the chance to relieve your hands of unwanted bananas.

On the way back to the hotel, stop for lunch.
